What stays on your device

Files selected inside a PdfVala tool are read by browser code and processed on the device. PdfVala traffic analytics do not include the contents or names of those documents. Generated files are downloaded directly by your browser.

What still uses the network

The website itself, application updates, analytics and advertising resources require network requests. These requests are separate from document conversion. See the privacy page for the traffic data associated with those services.

Safe use

• Use a current browser and install operating-system security updates.
• Only unlock or modify files you own or are authorized to access.
• Use a unique, strong password for protected documents and share it through a separate channel.
• Avoid shared or public devices for confidential work, and delete downloaded files when finished.
• For unusually sensitive or regulated documents, follow your organization's approved workflow.

Browser limits

Local processing depends on available memory, browser APIs and the complexity of the input. A failed conversion does not mean the file was uploaded; it usually means the device could not complete the operation locally.
