Convert a PDF to Word in four steps

1. Open the PDF to Word tool
2. Choose a PDF containing selectable text
3. Click Convert to Word
4. Download and review the DOCX in Word or another compatible editor

What may need manual adjustment

PDFs do not store document structure like Word files. Multi-column layouts, floating images, forms, tables, and unusual reading order may require editing after conversion.

Scanned PDFs and OCR

If selecting text in your PDF viewer is impossible, the document is probably image-only. This converter intentionally reports that limitation instead of producing an empty Word file. OCR support would be required for those documents.

Privacy check

Text extraction and DOCX generation happen in your browser. You can verify this by opening the browser Network panel while converting a file.

Is the downloaded file a real DOCX?

Yes. It is an Open XML DOCX package that modern Word-compatible editors can open.

Will the Word file look identical?

Not always. Text and page breaks are retained, but PDF layout does not translate perfectly into editable Word structure.

Can it process password-protected PDFs?

Unlock the PDF with the correct password first, then convert the unlocked copy.
